How do New Zealand shops get their files?

Your files arrive as an email attachment and stay in your client account, from Invercargill to Kaitaia. Order caps, polos and back panels together and each size comes as its own file.

Not sure which format your machine reads? Try the file format finder, or open a file in the free DST and PES viewer.

How long does it take?

Standard turnaround is 24 hours after quote approval. New Zealand is many hours ahead of US time, so a design approved during your day is usually waiting for you the next morning.

Lettering and fabrics we see from New Zealand

Te reo Māori names use macrons (ā, ē, ī, ō, ū), and auto-digitizing often drops them. We build each macron as a short satin bar above its letter so names stay correct and readable. Fine kōwhaiwhai-style linework is thickened just enough to stitch cleanly.

Why New Zealand shops choose HatDigitizing

New Zealand shops tell us they want two things: files that run first time and names spelled right. We build every file by hand, check it in a stitch-out preview, keep macrons in place and fix anything free.

Read about our team, see all digitizing services, or check which file formats we supply.

We also digitize for shops in United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany and Ireland, and in all 50 US states.

Hat digitizing New Zealand: FAQ

Do I pay GST on your digitizing?

Our invoices are in US dollars and do not add New Zealand GST. If your business is GST-registered, check with your accountant whether imported services need to be reported.

Do you keep macrons in te reo Māori names?

Yes. Macrons are built as part of each letter so names stay correct on caps and crests.

Can I pay in New Zealand dollars?

You pay by card in US dollars through Stripe and your bank converts it to New Zealand dollars.

Which format should I order?

Tajima and most commercial machines read DST. Brother reads PES and Janome reads JEF. Several formats cost nothing extra.

How fast are files delivered?

Usually within 24 hours of approval, which often means overnight for you.

Is there a minimum order?

No. One design is fine, with no setup fees.
