Machine files vs source files
A machine file (DST, PES, JEF and so on) holds the stitches your machine runs. A source file (EMB) holds editable objects. Keep both: the machine file for production and the source for future edits and resizes.
Check or convert a file
Open any DST, PES, EXP or JEF in our free stitch file viewer and converter to see the design, stitch count, size and colors, and save it as another format.
Not sure what you need? Use the file format finder or tell us your machine model.
Questions about file formats
Why does my DST show strange colors?
DST does not store thread colors, so viewers pick default colors. Your machine operator sets the real ones.
Can I resize a stitch file myself?
Small changes of up to about 10 to 20% are usually fine. Larger changes need a digitizer to rebuild density and underlay.
