Do you digitize for German shops?
Yes, we create stitch files (Stickdateien) for embroidery businesses in Germany. Files arrive by email and in your client account within about 24 hours, with no shipping or customs. We write in English, but your artwork can be in German, and umlauts and ß are digitized as real letters, not left out.

How do German shops get their files?
Files are sent by email and saved in your client account, so a shop in Munich gets them as quickly as one in Hamburg. DST is the usual choice for ZSK and Tajima machines, and we can add PES or EMB at no extra cost.
Not sure which format your machine reads? Try the file format finder, or open a file in the free DST and PES viewer.
How long does it take?
Standard turnaround is 24 hours after quote approval. Germany is ahead of US time, so artwork approved in your afternoon is usually ready the next morning. Same-day rush is available for most designs.

Lettering and fabrics we see from Germany
German names are long and full of umlauts. On a cap, "Freiwillige Feuerwehr" or "Schützenverein" has to fit across a curved front without the dots on ä, ö and ü merging into the letters. We build the dots as separate short satins and keep at least 5 mm letter height, so they stay crisp.

Why German shops choose HatDigitizing
German shops are precise about quality, and so are we. Every file is built by hand with density, underlay and pull compensation set for your fabric, then checked in a stitch-out preview. If a file does not run cleanly on your ZSK or Tajima, we fix it free.

We also digitize for shops in United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand, and in all 50 US states.
Hat digitizing Germany: FAQ
Do I pay VAT (MwSt.) on your services?
Our invoices are in US dollars and do not add German VAT. If your business is VAT-registered, your tax advisor can confirm how to report services bought from outside the EU under the reverse charge.
Do your files run on ZSK machines?
Yes. ZSK and Tajima machines read DST, which is our standard format. We can also supply PES, EMB or EXP.
Do you handle umlauts and ß?
Yes. Ä, ö, ü and ß are digitized as real letters, with the dots built separately so they stay crisp on caps.
Can I send artwork and notes in German?
Your artwork can be in German. We reply in English, and you are welcome to write in German if that is easier; we will make sure nothing is lost.
Can I pay in euros?
You pay by card in US dollars through Stripe and your bank converts it to euros.
How fast are files delivered?
Standard turnaround is 24 hours after quote approval, with same-day rush for most designs.
Tax notes are general information, not tax advice.
